Dresscode
If you want to visit Munich's Oktoberfest with your heart and soul, you'll have to look around your wardrobe first. While men wear a plaid shirt with leather trousers ( Lederhosen), beige trousers, socks, and "Haferl" shoes, the woman throws herself into a jaunty dirndl.
The bow on the dirndl:
What is especially interesting for the men on the dirndl is the position of the bow on the dirndl: If you wear the bow on the right side, everyone understands: finger away, the lady is forgiven. If you wear the loop on the left, you can expect a lot of attention because that symbolizes that you are single. Mid-bound loops reveal you as a virgin; whoever wears the bow behind is either a waitress or widow.
